Obituary for Roberta Anne Robertson
Robertson, Roberta Anne “Bertie” of St. Thomas, former resident of Aylmer and Chatham, passed on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017, at the L.H.S.C. (Victoria Campus), at the age of 71, surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved mother of Stephen Gillespie. Cherished eldest sister of 7 siblings, Bob Robertson (Lucy), Beth Spicer (Bob), the late Tim Robertson (2015), the late Kathy Robertson (1981), Peter Robertson (Brenda), Sally Walker (Brian) and Jane Robertson (Larry). Sadly missed by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Roberta was born in Chatham on June 6th, 1946, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Carron) Robertson. She was a Registered Practical Nurse at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital, Elgin General Hospital and Memorial Hospital. Roberta was a member of Holy Angels’ Church.
Bertie was a long-time friend to many. She had a flare for fashion and enjoyed her books. She was a truly kind woman and a wonderful mother with a gentle spirit. Bertie was an amazing and generous big sister and aunt who will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Angels’ Church on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with interment of ashes to follow in Holy Angels’ Cemetery. No visitation prior to the service. Remembrances may be made to The Lung Association.Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas in charge of arrangements.
