Kolby Colin Crum, of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away February 15, 2020 at the age of 18. He was born May 17, 2001 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kolby loved running and cross-country was his passion. He enjoyed going to the DZ Comic Store and playing games. Kolby was an avid Star Wars fan and had watched every Star Wars movie. He loved going on family vacations, especially to Destin, Florida, Galveston, and Sea World in San Antonio. Kolby also enjoyed going with his family to Lake Eufaula to go swimming and being out in the boat. Kolby enjoyed watching stand-up comedy. He was an honor student and a member of the National Honor Society. In addition, he was a member of the varsity cross-country team and track team. Kolby won the Moore High School 2019 Heart of the Lion Award. He also won the Most Improved Runner 2 years in a row. Kolby was a very compassionate, kind and shy young man with a very loving and giving heart. He was easy-going and yet always concerned about others. In the summer, Kolby had worked for McAlister’s Deli and Andy Alligator. He always put his best effort forward and was very dependable. Kolby would always walk employees to their cars at night and he would always volunteer to do jobs that others didn’t want to do. He always encouraged the other young runners. Kolby was very excited that he had received a scholarship from Redlands Community College in El Reno for Cross Country. Every year Kolby participated in the Moore War Run-he crossed the finish line in the top 2%. His first love was spending time with his family, especially his sister, Skylar and hanging out with his friends. Kolby is survived by his mother, Tansey Helbusch & husband, Jeff, of Moore; father, Jeremy Crum, of Edmond; 1 sister, Skylar Crum, of the home; 2 step-brothers, Weston Hellbusch and Wyatt Hellbusch, both of Edmond; grandparents, Terry & Vicki Longest, of Oklahoma City; Hugh & Mareta English, of Wichita Falls, TX; great-grandmother, Wanda Miller, of Hot Springs, AR. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Louton. Funeral Services for Kolby will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the First Moore Baptist Church, located at 301 NE 27th Street, in Moore, OK. Interment to follow at Moore Cemetery, Moore, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, OK.
