Obituary For Mrs. Annie M. Davidson

Davidson, Mrs. Annie M., a resident of West Point, GA, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Emory Medical Center Midtown, Atlanta, GA.

Funeral Services for Ms. Annie Morria Davidson are scheduled for Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1109 E 10th Street, West Point, GA 31833 with Rev. Dr. Willie T. Edmondson, Pastor/Officiant.

Interment will follow in Marseilles Cemetery, West Point, GA. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

In honoring the request of the decedent, Ms. Annie M. Davidson, there will be no public viewing.

Ms. Annie Morria Davidson was born June 2, 1943 in the Water Works Community of West Point, Georgia. She was the oldest of six children to the union of John T. and Jessie Willie Watkins Palmer.

At an early age she confessed Christ as her personal Savior and united with Love Union Baptist Church in West Point, Georgia. She later united with Bethlehem Baptist Church, also in West Point where she remained a faithful member until her death.

Annie was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an ambassador and a true soldier for God that kept pushing no matter the circumstances. In the community she was known as a faithful warrior of and on fire for God. She welcomed everyone in her home. Ms. Annie never met a stranger, served as a parent for a number of foster children and was a surrogate parent to many of her children’s friends throughout the community. She loved cooking, sewing and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; four sisters, Floretta Billingslea, Charlotte Davidson, Shirley Ann Palmer and Nellie Ruth Mays; one brother, Shelton Palmer; and, one daughter, Charnita Davidson Kanyi. On Tuesday, June 11, 2019, God called our beloved Annie Morria Davidson home. She died at Emory University Midtown Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted children, Cymantieal (Allen) Cullwell, West Point, GA and Frederick (Cathy) Davidson, Kapolei, HI; loving children whom she adopted, Darquavius Davidson, Chesapeake Bay, VA, Dario Davidson, Myrtle Beach, SC and Yolanni (Travis) Atkinson, Roanoke, AL; a loving step-daughter whom she reared as her own, Chantilly Davidson, West Point, GA; seven grandchildren; a loving sister, Theresa P. Davidson, Lanett, AL; four Sisters in Christ, Nylon Winston, Constance Morgan, Barbara Jean McFarland and Louise Peay; and, a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
