Carter Funeral Home announces the peaceful transition of Ms. Janie Mae Williams, (81) of Ft. Davis, Alabama. Mrs. Williams, transitioned into eternity on January 15, 2022, while under the watchful care of her daughter and loving family in Union Springs, AL
The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Farewell Celebration will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022, at 11:00 am from the Mt. Era Missionary Baptist Church, in the Downs Community. Her loving son -in law, Bishop Kincherlow Jones Sr. will deliver the message of comfort.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Era Baptist Cemetery.
Janie Mae Williams was born October 30,1940 in Bullock County, Alabama to the late Ludie and Lucille Williams of Fort Davis, Alabama. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and united with the Mt. Era Baptist Church in Downs, Alabama as a faithful servant until her health failed.
She was called home to glory, Saturday January 15, 2022, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Janie was preceded in death by her husband John Tyrone Williams, her son Shedrick Tyrone Williams Sr, her grandson Trenton Williams, her granddaughter MacKenzie Smith, her siblings, Otis D Williams, B.Otis Williams, Bernice Williams and Vera Williams.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving children, Kimberly (Kincherlow) Williams-Jones, Montgomery Alabama, Vickie Smith Union Springs Alabama, a devoted and special person she considered as her own son Quentin Finney. Grandchildren, Justin Gachett, Union Springs Alabama, Kambria Robinson Atlanta Ga, DeMarcus Gachett, Union Springs, Alabama, Shedrick Williams Jr, Shavonna Williams, Midway Alabama . Great grandchild Emani Gachett, Her siblings, Ludie Williams, Boston Massachusetts, Juanita Williams, Auburn Alabama, Edward Williams, Union Springs Alabama. Sisters-in-law, Minnie Pearl Williams, Annie Barnes Fort Davis Alabama and Alberta Williams, Union Springs Alabama. A devoted niece April Johnson, a special nephew (son) Neal Williams, Hartford Connecticut. Several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends including Mrs. Rosa Henry, Lillie Tolbert, Doris Holmes and LueVail Smith, along with her church family.
In accordance with recommended COVID-19 Protocols, all attendees are requested to utilize appropriate facial coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize physical contact.
