Carter Funeral Home announces the peaceful transition of Ms. Channie Mae Jenkins of the Sardis, Community.
Ms. Jenkins, 68, transitioned into eternity, July, 1, 2021. The Commemoration of Life will begin with a public visitation, Friday, July 9, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home.
The Farewell Celebration at Graveside will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Old Sardis Baptist Cemetery, Union Springs, AL. Pastor James H. Gochett, will officiate all services. The eulogy will be delivered by Pastor Eddie C. Jasper of the Haynes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church

Attendees for all visitations and services are requested to wear appropriate facial coverings and practice social distancing guidelines.
A Time to be Born: Channie Mae Jenkins was born third of ten children to the late Johnnie and Mattie Lou Jenkins on April 3, 1953, in Haines City, Florida.
A Time to Serve: Channie Jenkins accepted Christ at an early age and joined Old Sardis Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until her health failed.
A Time to Die: God called our beloved one home to be with Him on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at 6:30 a.m. at Southern Springs Healthcare & Rehabilitation Facility in Union Springs, Alabama.
Channie was also preceded in death by her two brothers, John and William Jenkins. She leaves cherished memories to five sisters, Essie Hill, Katie (Edward) Turner, Jessie (Johnny) Dubose, Gloria Jenkins, and Ida Pearl Jenkins, all of Union Springs, AL; two brothers, Thomas Jenkins, Union Springs, AL and Fred Jenkins, Atlanta, GA; nine aunts, Annie (Fred) Youngblood, Ethel Borders, Oldies Jackson, Mary Baker, Carstella Baker, Lula B. (Fred) Rivers, Emma Lou Downing, Lillie Mae White, and Katie Percell; one uncle, Fred Youngblood; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend, Mary Scott.
