Some of the best memories of my childhood were going to visit my Uncle Louis. I remember riding with Uncle Louis on his final load moving to Northern California, it was a very foggy trip up the Valley. I can remember when Jeff and myself were out playing in the mud and we were covered from head to toe in a thick mucky mud and Uncle Louis told us to stand there while he used the hose to rinse all the mud off but it just wouldn't come off until we hit the bathtub. What I really liked though was when Uncle Louis would pull out his Vietnam slides, I know most people didn't really like to watch them again but I just thought that was the greatest thing to watch him and hear him tell his stories I always listened to his every word. I remember the time that Jeff and myself took the bow and arrow out back and found a dead animal and Jeff shot it and we took it to Uncle Louis and we told him Jeff shot it and he was amazed but I am not sure Jeff or myself ever told him the truth. I used to like it when I would get to come visit during baseball season and Uncle Louis would let me practice with his team and I always had a great time with Louis and Jeff at practice. Just sitting here typing brings back so many memories and I would just like to thank Uncle Louis for being such a very positive influence on my childhood it is so hard to keep this relatively short because as I sit here typing I can think of so many more memories. I only wish my son could have got to have known him because I know Uncle Louis would have loved to meet him and show my son his ranch. I love you Uncle Louis and I know this is not a good bye but just a see you later. Michael Hughes
